LP cover of many years, Atahualpa Yupanqui name is one of the fundamentals in line of creators and drivers of Argentine folklore. Its works have been performed and recorded worldwide, its internationally appreciated poetry, and his voice and his guitar have traveled almost all over the world, always finding the warm welcome and interest only awaken the authentic and popular singers. The recent tour of Don Atahualpa by Japan and her many trips abroad have done nothing to extend the scope of his songs, and enrich their experience with new emotions and new friends.
This disc, chronologically located behind the "Verses of Payador Hunted" Yupanqui marks the return to the recording studio after an absence that its many fans it has seemed a little too long, and is the first sign of a highly ambitious recording plan. That very absence, is probably more valuable, by the maturity of some songs and melodies that, despite longer appear on previous albums have been recorded again and reflect the actual feeling of the poet and musician: "Cry the branches of the Wind" and " The seller of weeds "are two of them. There are also new works, as "Nem Kororo," a lullaby of Hiroshima collected by Don Atahualpa during his visit to the Japanese city, and "That night God did it", emerging from a poem by Atahualpa Yupanqui, whose first verse is painted the essence of the inspirational theme:
Another anonymous work, "Zamba del Viento" is shown with the feeling instrumentally so particular that prints the interpreter guitar solos, a feature also evident in "The Gaucho" samba of Padula, the hidden "Sacha Puma" and the milonga "La Estancia Vieja", another issue that develops Yupanqui frequency. The picture on this disc is completed with "The song, a selection of songs bagualeras it adds greatly to a branch of our folklore that has fallen somewhat, unjustly forgotten in recent times: the baguala. Another milonga, "Thanks, guitar, chacarera" La del gualicho "and the song" Rain and the Sower "complete the album, shows the continued development and evolution of this great folklorist.
Some of the album recordings were made with a Japanese guitar, Don Atahualpa flattered by one of the leading factories in the country, the announcement that Yupanqui had given her own instrument to a Japanese musician, during his stay there. Only one who has been accompanied by a guitar for many years, can come to understand the emotion that means detached from the instrument, and then capture the sympathy aroused by the Argentine folklore in a country where our language is understood by few, but where our music touches all hearts.
